Qianye(千夜) is the main protagonist of the web novel Monarch of Evernight
Qianye was a little boy who lived in the Evernight Continent, where the weak have to go through dump and fight over scraps to survive. Lin Xitang happens to see Qianye's potential and enrolls him in the Yellow Springs Training Camp: a place which allows only the best to graduate, and kills the rest[1]. After Qianye graduates, he manages to join the Red Scorpion, but is infected by a vampire soon after. He returns to the Evernight Continent and restarts to build his fame through countless struggles.

At sixteen, Qianye's facial features were clean and pure and incredibly handsome, with 1.85 meters tall he was not much shorter compared to people who were overly stalwart like Shi Yan. He was not as muscular and defined as Shi Yan, but he definitely did not give off an impression of weakness either. His figure was slender and his proportions were balanced. Every line on his body was filled with tension.

Volume 01[]
At the start of the second book, Lin Xitang took Qianye from a junkyard to the Yellow Springs Training Camp. There, he first met Song Zining and became friends with him. After he left the Yellow Springs, Qianye had become acquainted with Wei Potian just before being accepted into the Red Scorpion. Soon after, Qianye's battalion fell into a trap and he became a Blood Thrall. (Author divides the MoE into 3 part: the 1st is the side story for Lin Xitang and Zhang Boqian (永夜之帝国双璧 "MEN: The Twin Paragons of the Empire" or 永夜之黎明之翼 "MEN: The Wings of Dawn/Daybreak"), which happened about twenty years earlier than the timeline of MoE, 2nd is MoE, 3rd can be seen as either the continuation of MoE or an additional volume for MoE and is currently in update)
Volume 02[]
After becoming a Blood Thrall, Qianye went to Evernight Continent and opened a bar, Red Spider Lily. Because of its name, it attracted Uncle Wang and Ruoxi's attention. Later in the same bar he met Nighteye. When she had first awakened her Primogenitor Bloodline, she was being chased by several vampires and werewolves. After the battle, the unconscious Qianye was bitten by Nighteye and NaNa.
Volume 03[]
As a hunter Qianye received Yin Qiqi's mission to help in the successor examination. In a bloody battle, plotted by Gu Liyu, he met Nighteye again. Stunned by seeing her, he shot her without thinking. Pleased by this action, William helped him to escape. In the last test of the successor examination, the Profound Heaven Spring Hunt, after a long time he re-encountered Song Zining and first met Zhao Junhong.
Wu Zhengnang is the main villain of this volume. Qianye disrupts the 7th division's trade with the dark races. He uses the help of Song Zining and Wei Potian to finally kill Wu Zhengnang.
Volume 04[]
Qianye was chosen by the Wings of Inception, Black-Winged Monarch Andruil Inheritance, to retrieve the other part of the inheritance, Eye of Truth. For this and to solve Zining's quest he travels to Flaming Beacon Continent (Western Continent). Pursued by a Vampire Viscount, he met Zhao Ruoxi again and used the Red Spider Lily to kill the vampire. On his way to complete Zining's quest he is hunted by an assassin group Lone Ghost and meets William once again. After their brief travel together to the Tulip Bazaar, a neutral market. William provides Qianye a token of the Summit of Peaks.
At the end of the volume, after resolving Zining's matter and obtaining the inheritance, he fought with Zhao Jundu and discovered that he is his half-brother.
Volume 05[]
Qianye helped Song Zining win the competition among heirs in the Song Clan, and obtained the weapon Dongyue (literally "East Peak"). Jundu, Junhong and Yuying from Zhao Clan came into contact with him often.
He expands his Dark Flame Mercenary Corp by taking over Blackflow City and annexing the 7th division of expeditionary army. He starts a western expedition from Blackflow City to take over some dark race territory.
He re-encounters Nangong Xiaoniao from the Red Scorpion Army, albeit this is the first time he finds out her name. This also slowly leads him into the internal conflict within the Nangong family and eventually making Qianye a target after he heavily injures Nangong Xiaofeng as retaliation for injuring Zhao Yuying. Shortly after, Zhao Fenglei visits Blackflow City and attacks Qianye when he is injured.
A iron curtain is drawn over the Evernight Continent by the Sky Demon. Opening a new bloody battlefield with the dark races as well as much internal conflict between the human groups. Bai Kongzhao is hired by the family and attempts to kill Qianye after she is hired by the Nangong Family. A heavily injured Qianye ends up in a living Black Forest, a mysterious and dangerous forest where he manages to advance to a third rank viscount.
Qianye runs into Nighteye again in a neutral market under the curtain where they spend the night together. Qianye arrives to Blackflow City with Blackmoon. Qianye and Zining kill Luther, the demonkin viscount who was leading an attack on the city. Following the victory against the dark race army the two fight Nangong Yuanwang and Nangong Zhen, forcing the Nangong family to retreat.
At the end of the volume Junhong led him to the Zhao clan and met his father by blood, Zhao Weihuang, from whom he learned about his past. Zhao Clan helped him level up to Champion level. Also in V5, Lin Xitang reappeared, along with Zhang Boqian. Lin's storyline will continue to emerge as a hidden plot throughout the novel as he is the crucial figure in the political struggles within the empire as well as in the battle between human and the Evernight. Volume 06[]
Qianye took part in war under the iron curtain against the Dark Races. There is much infighting between within the factions. Qianye runs into William and they fight to a draw. Shortly before the close of the bloody battle under the Iron Curtain Qianye has a stand-off between Jundu, Nighteye, Twilight, William and a couple of other key figures.
Experts from the two faction (Evernight: Lilith along with 2 other great monarchs; and the Empire: the Pointer Monarch, and Zhang Boqian) battle the Sky Demon resulting in a prismatic turbulence (a break in the void space) where a piece of ancient essence from the void colossus, Chaos, drops.[2] Qianye enters this void space, now dubbed the "Giant's Response". He met Nighteye again and secretly brought her to the empire with the help of Song Zining.
He intervened in the duel between the Demoness and Zhao Jundu to prevent the latter from dying, and fell unconscious at the end of the volume. Lin's plot line: Lin Xitang learned that Qianye's still alive through military report, but decided not to meet him in person because he thought it would be the best for Qianye. Instead he let Zhang Boqian meet and take care for Qianye. Volume 07[]
After have contended with Demoness into a draw Qianye's talent was described as Journey Through Heaven. To save Qianye, Zining asked Nighteye for help. After have obtained the Far Ancient Origin Blood from the Kartun Clan, Nighteye's identity was discovered by the empire's military department and she was caught and tortured with Chaos Grinding Stone (i think this is the name), damaging her soul. When Qianye recovered, he rescued Nighteye from the Military Headquarters, and in this process he exposed his identity as a halfling out of anger. Jundu and Yuying in Zhao Clan helped him escape out of the empire. He settled in the Neutral Ground, and started to collect Dream Eating Insect to repair Nighteye's soul leading to her second awakening, where he inherited an airship ("Martyr's Palace") left by the currently most powerful human Ji Wentian (or Extreme Point King, "Heavenly King" level (a level up the God General), who will also become an important figure later on). Volume 08[]
Qianye started to develop a foundation in Neutral Ground. When Nighteye wakes up, she alienates Qianye (at least at the surface) and awakens some memories of her past life. This causes her to have a change of behavior and try to put a distance between herself and Qianye. Qianye continued to develop his forces in the continent and later gets into a place called Great Maelstrom where he improves his abilities and unconsciously has sex with Li Kuanglan and Ji Tianqing, getting them pregnant. In the Well of Pack Star, Book of Darkness absorbs all star power from the strongest nine stars, and opens up a new chapter: Book of Darkness: Prosperity. Volume 09[]
Climax and the final volume of the second book of the trilogy (author divides the MoE into 3 part: the 1st is the side story for Lin Xitang and Zhang Boqian, which happened about twenty years earlier than the timeline of MoE, 2nd is MoE, 3rd can be seen as either the continuation of MoE or an additional volume for MoE and is currently in update). Qianye agreed to fight for the empire in the Floating Land war against the Evernight. this was because he heard that Lin Xitang had planned the war and was facing many enemies at court. The battle at White City was frigid; from 40.000 soldiers that Qianye lead, only a few hundred were able to come back alive, Zhao Jundu had almost died, and Bai Aotu had seriously damaged her foundation. After a victorious ending to the battle, Qianye went back to Neutral Ground.
